A special congregation was held on this day. It started with the children and teachers singing ‘Saraswati Vandana’. This was followed by a presentation on the various aspects of the festival. Children carried their books with them to attain the blessings of ‘Maa Saraswati’. They also learnt about the importance of showing respect to books as they are repositories of wisdom and knowledge. The assembly concluded with an inspirational song which was sung by the students.
To make it a joyful day, Pre-primary wing of the school buzzed with various activities. Dal Pasting Activity was organized for tiny tots. The students sought blessings from the Goddess of Knowledge. Yellow gaudy costumes and traditional jewellery worn by tiny tots caught the eyes of the beholders. Students enjoyed ‘Yellow Day’ as it signifies cheerfulness, wisdom, auspiciousness and intellectuality, is a symbol of spring. Students brought a delicious savoury yellow in their tiffin as well and enjoyed their nutritional meal while dining together.
The Principal of the school, Dr. Jyoti Sachdev Pujara motivated the students to be progressive learners, setting big goals and putting dedicated efforts as a promising and flourishing human harvest. She said that the Basant means spring and Panchami is the fifth day of the spring season. As per religious beliefs, worshipping the Goddess brings enlightenment of knowledge, get us rid of lethargy, sluggishness and slumber. She also emphasized on maximum plantation for healthy environment. She wished the staff members and students and said that as harsh winter ends and mustard flowers bloom, may everyone’s life sees no more tough time or any gloom.
On the whole, it was a day filled with religious feelings among students. The celebrations concluded with distribution of Prasad amongst all.
